Hey, It’s Okay

Hey, It's Okay to do these things a little bit differently... #motivation

  • to sleep in on a weekday. We homeschool!
  • to leave the laundry unfolded for 2…..weeks.
  • to have hot dogs for lunch two days in a row.
  • to keep an eye on your kids’ social media profiles.
  • to spend a little too much time on YouTube.
  • to WANT to date as a single mom.
  • to say no to a friend who needs help if you can’t provide the help they need.
  • to not feel guilty for saying no.
  • to have no idea what you are going to cook for dinner at 4pm.
  • to drink out of the milk jug.. Oops!
  • to have no clue what you are doing as a Boy Scout mom.

In a world where we are pressured to fit in and be perfect, what are you okay with doing differently?

Don’t forget to leave your links at Airing My Laundry’s blog.

  1. I love these posts because they are empowering and yes all of these things ARE okay! Leave the energy and time to the really important things in life. Homeschooling is the best! EVERY situation in life is a homeschool situation!

    1. Yes it is! We picked up a medicine from the pharmacy today that was labeled to take it “for days”.. How many days? Who knows! But it was a simple error. We turned it into a lesson on how that error could have been deadly if for instance the dosage was messed up instead. We like to call it LifeSchooling

  2. Yes to not feeling guilty about saying no! I’m a people pleaser and it’s taken me until adulthood to set healthy boundaries for myself. Saying “no” to people is part of my self-care.

  3. Thank you for linking up!

Oh man, I wish we could sleep in. We have to wake up at 6 AM on school days. It’s tough. So I’m jealous.

I spend too much time on YouTube too 😉

  4. I love all of the points you made. I’m guilty of putting the laundry away except socks. I toss them into the laundry basket on the dryer and match when we are out of socks. Opps

  5. I love this! I agree about the laundry. I usually do it and than it gets left in baskets for a while before I feel like folding it. I don’t mind doing laundry, I just hate folding it.

  6. I am a complete and total weirdo. Sometimes I meal prep for a whole week and feel great about myself and other days I fly by the seat of my pants and eat out for a week straight, it’s ok that I do NOT have my life together, at all!! HA!!

  7. I hope you are ok with keeping an eye on your kids social media profiles. That’s called smart parenting! Great list! We actually had hot dogs not just two days in a row but also twice in a row on one of those days making for 3 times in 48 hours (lunch, dinner, dinner). I’m OK with that!
